Pattaya’s Water Shortage Problems

A meeting of the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association recently took place at the Green Park Resort in Naklua to discuss the state of Pattaya’s intermittent water supply.

The main fears raised by the association members is the ever increasing amount of construction projects still being given the green light to proceed, despite an insufficient water supply for existing properties, and the only signs are that the water supply will become even more erratic with the extra infrastructure.

As we are all aware the level of rainfall has been very low over the last twelve months, and as a result the Mabrachan Lake is approximately 3 million cubic metres less than this time last year, and, unless there is significant rainfall over the next few months, the Lake could run dry by August of this year.

Ed. The Pattaya Business and Tourism Association (PBTA) probably vote for a one week Songkran for the extra business in brings in to Pattaya and then one month later, complain about water shortages.
